1️⃣ Sowing Too Many Seeds

Microgreens need space for air + light. When they’re overcrowded, you get mold, weak stems, and poor flavor.

Fix:
Follow the recommended seeding density for each crop. When in doubt: spread evenly, not thick.


2️⃣ Too Much Water (or Too Little)

Microgreens thrive in moist—not soggy—growing media. Overwatering blocks oxygen and leads to rot.

Fix:
Water from below whenever possible. Keep trays breathable and avoid sealing in humidity too long.


3️⃣ Not Enough Light

Window light isn’t always enough! This causes stretching and floppy stems.

Fix:
Use a grow light placed 15–30 cm above your plants. 12–16 hours per day is the sweet spot.


4️⃣ Poor Airflow

Stagnant air encourages mold and weak growth.

Fix:
Give them airflow — even a small fan helps your microgreens stand strong.


5️⃣ Harvesting Too Late

Microgreens are best when they have their first true leaves. Waiting longer leads to bitterness.

Most microgreens reach peak flavor at 7–14 days, depending on the variety.
